Black Diamond

*Title of book: Black Diamond
*Author of book: Patricia C. McKissack and Fredrick McKissack, Jr
*Genre of book     Non Fiction

Hello and, today I will be telling you about a book I just finished reading which is. A book called Black Diamond, and it is about the, negro league and players so it’s a, very good book and hope you enjoy it.

This book is about…

What this book is about is, that they had the negro league back then, and now they are looking at the people who were in the league and also the teams. They were as legendary as the people in the majors you know the old legends like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, and Honus Wagner, and players you know like Josh Gibson,Satchel Paige,Jackie Robinson,Willie Mays, and Willie Wells. Then they compared to the very good negro league teams to the, legendary mlb teams and you know, they treated black people so badly and, you know they are very good baseball players. So that was very bad back then and that’s basically what the book is about that, the teams and players were very good and compared to the legendary, mlb Teams and Players.

The Main Character is Jackie Robinson I feel is because he is the main character just because of what. They did to him and now you look back and it was so bad. He was in the negro league and everyone was so nice to him, and now if you look at it was because of the way they got treated back then. Now when he joined the mlb. He got treated like crap tried to hurt Jackie and that’s not right. Now it is way better because just that their race is.  Another thing is that, he was such a nice guy and a matter of fact that, he was so nice to any type of race plus it is such a great thing, that he was like
this because, some people have got to learn that there is great people around the world. Now I  think that this is a great person we are talking about. The reason I think that Jackie Robinson is my main character is because, he was the one who did all of this and set it right and I just think he is the reason everything is great now.

The reason I like the book is because if you look at, the negro league and all the players and teams. It is so amazing on how no matter what their skin color is that they are amazing. Now if you look at it these are so many legends, we are talking about, all the legends in the twentieth century they’re stats are as good as the legends in the Twentieth century. Now I would recommend this book to you because the book just tells you about the true stories about the great negro league and the players. Then the final the theme is that there are incredible people and no matter what they’re skin is that they’re race.
